Yahoo!7 (An Australian and New Zealand Yahoo!) has released a web 2.0 aggregated search engine called alpha. I know what you are thinking, because I was thinking the same thing too; Yahoo! has already got a search engine which is one of the most commonly used in the world, so why alpha (beta) gamma search?
The difference here is that alpha (beta) search is an aggregated search in web 2.0 style, and it categories results from various sources into different sections; the default ones being Yahoo!7 Web Search, Flickr, Yahoo!7 Answers, YouTube, Yahoo!7 News, and Wikipedia. If you are logged in to your Yahoo! account, you can customise the search result page by dragging and dropping modules (source elements) and also add your custom info sources (i.e: any website you would like to search) if they use OpenSearch RSS.
I haven’t heard of OpenSearch RSS before, so I did some research on the Internet, and discovered that the following websites offer OpenSearch RSS.
